Relevant literature is synthesised with anemphasise on how this teaching might be operationalised.Experience gained through preliminary inclusion ofmetacognition in a core second year course is described.It appears that easy ways exist to integrate instruction ofmetacognition into existing undergraduate engineeringcourses that should potentially yield major benefits tostudents.
