Abstract

Objective. The article deepens the theoretical and methodological foundations in the context of business intelligence systems formation in strategic management and develops practical recommendations for their effective use at Ukrainian enterprises in order to ensure sustainable development. Methodology. The development of a theoretical and methodological approach to the study of business intelligence systems in the strategic management of an enterprise is based on a systematic analysis of the interrelationships between the economic, social and technological aspects of enterprise functioning, which makes it possible to take into account the multidimensionality of modern challenges. The study uses dialectical methods of cognition, general scientific methods and principles of comprehensive research: morphological analysis, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, observation, comparison, description, generalization, scientific abstraction, as well as competence and synergistic approaches. Results. The paper presents the author's interpretation of the terms “business analysis” and “business intelligence” and compares these areas with other analytical technologies. It identifies the advantages of business analytics and substantiates its importance in modern conditions for ensuring the flexibility of the enterprise’s strategic management system and increasing its innovation activity. In general, the complexity of an enterprise’s internal business processes makes it necessary to consider business intelligence as a system of comprehensive and continuous monitoring, evaluation, and diagnosis of business functions, as well as a system of implementing changes using business intelligence to solve problems and use existing opportunities to ensure the survival and development of the business. The authors conclude that business intelligence is relevant in the current realities of the economy, which is focused on the interests of not only the enterprise, but also stakeholders and society as a whole. Scientific novelty. The article substantiates the conceptual approach to the use of business intelligence in enterprises. It describes the main elements of business intelligence, indicates the scope of their application and identifies their advantages and disadvantages. The authors propose an approach to delimiting the scope of application of key concepts belonging to related but different areas of analytical technologies. Practical significance. The use of business intelligence methods allows making informed decisions based on detailed data analysis. This helps to improve the flexibility of the organizational structure, optimize business processes and adapt to changes in the external environment. This approach is necessary to ensure high competitiveness and innovative activity of enterprises in the current economic environment.
