Três tempos das ideias católicas
Marco Aurélio Corrêa Martins
Abstract
In tune with non-secular philosophical, political and ecclesiastical ideas between the 19th and 20th centuries, the propositional feeling of the text aims to accompany historical research into the relationship between the Catholic Church and the Brazilian state at the time. From the introduction of Jansenist ideas in Portugal and in our domains, a position was already taken towards ultramonism. There is interest in State control of positions previously dominated by the Church in the constitution of modern States, as well as not in independent Brazil. In a subsequent moment, with greater influence from the Church to liberal movements, traditionalist philosophy inherited some protagonism while the ultramontanes sought to revive Thomist philosophy. Using a bibliographic methodology and processing texts as historical documents, it is important to note the temporalities that prevail in these philosophical essays or sets of ideas.
