Abstract

To optimize processes from an environment and profits perspective is extremely critical as the IT sector rapidly changes in modern day. Dealing with an extremely dynamic environment, the IT sector is subjected to many external and internal factors. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current state of companies in the IT sector, come up with a framework by integrating principles of green lean manufacturing, and lean IT manufacturing. The archival data analysis technique to fetch data from Deloitte, McKinsey, and Statista along with Descriptive analysis and supporting literature aligned each objective of the Research paper. The paper further reviews the actual implementation of green lean manufacturing systems at Apple. The results of this study show that EVSM can be used to eliminate Muda, Mura and Muri and thus foster green lean manufacturing. After thorough research, we concluded that green lean manufacturing in the IT industry does lead to wealth maximization and process optimization. It also reduces waste in companies, which further contribute to economic and environmental sustainability. The proposed theoretical frameworks simplify the adoption of sustainable practices and align operational improvements with environmental goals.
