Abstract

The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, is poised to profoundly reshape various professional domains, including data science consultation. This article explores the transformative potential of integrating LLMs into existing data science consulting frameworks, aiming to augment efficiency, deepen problem formulation, and enhance communication between consultants and clients. Drawing upon recent academic discourse and practical insights, we delineate the specific opportunities and challenges presented by this technological shift. We propose a synergistic model where human expertise remains paramount, leveraging LLMs as sophisticated tools for tasks such as initial data exploration, hypothesis generation, report drafting, and facilitating client understanding. While acknowledging the limitations and ethical considerations, including data privacy and the imperative for expert oversight, this article argues that embracing LLM integration is not merely an option but a strategic imperative for advancing the efficacy and accessibility of data science consultation services in the burgeoning digital age.
