Abstract
This study analyzes the technical, economic, and regulatory potential of green hydrogen in Brazil as a strategic driver for the energy transition. The research highlights the complementarity of renewable sources, such as wind and solar, which ensure stability in energy generation and efficiency in hydrogen production via electrolysis. Based on data from the Chafariz and Luzia complexes, it was demonstrated that hybrid projects have high technical feasibility and a competitive Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH), estimated at USD 2.70/kg. However, challenges persist, such as the lack of a robust regulatory framework, essential to attract international investors and ensure legal certainty. The approval of the Low Carbon Hydrogen Legal Framework (Law No. 14,948/2024) is a significant step forward but requires complementary regulations. It is concluded that, with incentives and strategic partnerships, Brazil can establish itself as a global leader in the green hydrogen market, promoting decarbonization and sustainable growth.
