This review focuses on Australian research about fatty liver, particularly roles of central obesity/insulin resistance in non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease/steatohepatitis (NAFLD/NASH) and development of regional guidelines on NAFLD, the first internationally, should now inform daily practice of gastroenterologists.
