TLDR
This research reveals the ``technology-institution" route mechanism by combining the Resource-Based View with the TOE Framework, which provides enterprises with strategies for technological integration and executive competence enhancement, and governments with strategies for regional differentiation policies and sustainable development strategies.
Abstract
The Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) Framework and the Resource-Based View are combined in this research to examine the effects of digital transformation on corporate sustainability via a sample of A-share listed businesses in Shenzhen and Shanghai between 2010 and 2023. According to the report, business sustainability is greatly improved by digital transformation, with cloud computing technologies serving as a crucial bridge. Executives' digital backgrounds speed up the use of technology, and institutional safeguards are provided by the government's digital focus. Additionally, businesses in the eastern and western regions, state-owned businesses, and non-heavy polluting businesses have shown more notable transformation impacts because of resource and regulatory advantages. This research compensates for the shortcomings of a single theoretical viewpoint by exposing the route mechanism of ``technological empowerment and institutional synergy" of transforming digitally to advance sustainable development. This research reveals the ``technology-institution" route mechanism by combining the Resource-Based View with the TOE Framework. At the same time, it provides enterprises with strategies for technological integration and executive competence enhancement, and governments with strategies for regional differentiation policies and sustainable development strategies.
