Abstract

Due to a dearth of knowledge and use of Indian Sign Language (ISL), communication between the hearing and deaf communities is extremely difficult. The accessibility, real-time performance, and vocabulary coverage of current technologies are sometimes lacking, leading to issues in the workplace, the classroom, and daily life. To overcome this challenge, a web-based application called Talk Hands was created to translate spoken English into ISL gestures in real time. TalkHands offers quick and efficient communication by fusing state-of-the-art voice processing and translation technologies, which makes it appropriate for a range of users, including professionals, students, and social people. According to initial test results, it is accurate and useable, and it has the potential to significantly minimize communication gaps. TalkHands is a scalable and developing solution that empowers deaf people, promotes diversity, and unites a more cohesive community than traditional methods.
