Smart Expense Tracker for Efficient Budget Management and Financial Insights

This paper presents the design and development of a smart expense tracker for efficient personal financial management and data-driven insights. The proposed system is implemented using Python and the Streamlit framework, providing an interactive and user-friendly web interface for recording and monitoring daily expenses. The application enables users to categorize transactions, store data using lightweight formats such as CSV and JSON, and visualize spending patterns through graphical representations including pie charts and bar graphs. In addition to basic tracking functionalities, the system incorporates data processing techniques to analyze category-wise and time-based expenditure, helping users make informed financial decisions. The lightweight architecture ensures ease of deployment without requiring complex database systems. Experimental results demonstrate that the system effectively improves expense tracking efficiency and enhances financial awareness. Future enhancements may include integration of machine learning models for predictive analysis, cloud-based storage, and mobile platform support.
