RESULTS FROM A MODEL OF ROAD TRAFFIC AIR POLLUTION, FEATURING JUNCTION EFFECTS AND VEHICLE OPERATING MODES

A computer model is reported that predicts air pollution concentrations as produced by the movements of vehicles in urban areas, including: the formation and dissipation of queues; different vehicle operating modes; disaggregated emission rates by operating mode; and the effects of the movement of vehicles on the dispersion of their exhaust gases.
