초록

Against the backdrop of global calls for gender equality and the rise of feminist film criticism, gendered biases in cinematic narratives have drawn growing scholarly attention. This study investigates the misrepresentation of female characters in contemporary cinema, analyzing how gender stereotypes continue to shape the portrayal of women in films. By conducting content analysis of popular films from the past decade, the research examines recurring themes and distorted characteristics through data from film reviews, academic articles, and industry reports. The findings indicate that despite some progress, female characters remain confined to stereotypical, one-dimensional roles. The study calls for the creation of more authentic and complex female representations in cinema and provides recommendations for future practices.
