The paper reports on the formation of lateral diodes in multilayered MoS2 using different polarization states of the covering organic ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer. The ferroelectric nature of P(VDF-TrFE) in contact with MoS2 was use to manipulate the carrier doping in MoS2 based on their reversible polarization by external polling field provided by a biased AFM tip. The idea of using different polarization states to create a lateral diode is novel, and the experimental results of MoS2 optoelectronic device are convincing, however, there are several issues that should be addressed before publishing in Nature Communications.
