Progestogen-Mediated Neuroprotection in Central Nervous System Disorders

The aim of this review is to summarize the significant findings related to the actions of progesterone and other progestogens in experimental models and epidemiological and clinical trials of some of the most prevalent and debilitating chronic neurodegenerative disorders, namely, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’ s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and multiple sclerosis.
