TLDR
Evaluated respiratory function by spirometry and examined the frequency of lower respiratory tract infections, number of re-hospitalizations, and growth parameters in 108 former very preterm neonates from a single neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Greece and suggested that the clinical practice of using nCPAP and enhanced delivery of protein was primarily responsible for the improved lung function at 8 years of age.
