The invention effectively solves the constraint influence of the prior measurement tool on the diameter changes of the plant stem, avoids the trouble of replacing different range sensors for measuring different plant stems, and can be used for nondestructively monitoring the diameter of the plants stem and small variable quantity of diameter within a certain period of time on line.
