Abstract

In the current era of global sustainability, inventory management practices are increasingly evaluated not only on their economic performance but also on their environmental and technological dimensions. This study develops a sustainable inventory model that integrates preservation technology, carbon emission considerations, and trade credit policy into a unified framework. Preservation technology is incorporated to minimize product deterioration, extend shelf life, and reduce waste, thereby improving overall efficiency. Carbon emissions generated from production, storage, and transportation are quantified to address environmental concerns and align with regulatory and green supply chain standards. Additionally, trade credit policy is introduced as a financing mechanism that enhances supplier–retailer relationships, influences ordering behavior, and improves capital flexibility. The proposed model investigates the optimal ordering strategy that minimizes total cost while balancing financial, technological, and environmental objectives. Sensitivity analysis highlights the impact of preservation investment, emission costs, credit terms, and demand patterns on the sustainability of the system. The findings suggest that integrating preservation technology with emission-conscious inventory planning under trade credit not only enhances profitability but also promotes ecological responsibility, offering valuable insights for managers, policymakers, and supply chain practitioners aiming to achieve sustainable growth.”
