Patient safety in practical nurses' education: A cross-sectional survey of newly registered practical nurses in Canada.

Self-reported competencies in various patient safety domains were compared between classroom and clinical settings and confidence in patient safety competence was highest in respondents registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario >2years and in those who obtained their education outside of Canada.
