Pancreatic stellate cells are activated by proinflammatory cytokines: implications for pancreatic fibrogenesis

An important role for stellate cells in pancreatic fibrogenesis is suggested by results suggesting an important response to the cytokines PDGF and TGF-β by increased proliferation and increased collagen synthesis.
