Abstract
Raw material inventory control plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of a company's production process. PT Herba Emas Wahidatama, a date palm juice producer, previously used conventional inventory management methods. However, these methods often lead to inefficiencies, such as stockouts that disrupt the production process, and overstocks that increase storage costs and the risk of raw material quality decline. This study aims to optimize inventory management by applying the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method to determine the optimal order quantity, safety stock, reorder point, and order frequency. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach by analyzing demand data, ordering costs, and storage costs for the period July 2024 - June 2025. The calculation results show that the optimal order quantity is 12,602 liters per order, with an order frequency of 25 times per year. In addition, a safety stock of 24,124 liters and a reorder point (ROP) of 76,336 liters are determined to prevent stock shortages during the lead time. The implementation of the EOQ method successfully reduced total inventory costs from Rp 10,247,906,250 to Rp 9,585,459,374, resulting in a cost efficiency of Rp 662,446,876 or approximately 6%. These results indicate that the EOQ method is effective in minimizing inventory costs while ensuring a smooth production process. This approach provides a systematic and efficient solution for PT Herba Emas Wahidatama in improving inventory control and supporting the sustainability of production operations.
