MSc Thesis Proposal Cracking Password Hashing Schemes using Graphics Processing Units

This Master thesis is meant to give more insight into parallel programming on graphic cards with API's like CUDA or OpenCL, and to give an example of how GPU's could be used to launch a brute force attack on authentication mechanisms that use password hashing schemes based on a cryptographic hash function.
