MEASURING OPERATING SYSTEM OVERHEAD

This study quantifies the overhead of interrupt handler and process scheduler of full-fledged operating systems running on Sun UltraSPARC T1 processor and compares the results from Linux and Solaris to the ones measured in a low-overhead runtime environment, called Netra Data Plane Software Suite (Netra DPS).
