Abstract
ICTs (information and communication technologies) have the potential to make a substantial impact on the Sustainability of the environment. This article gives a bibliometric study of studies on ICTs and environmental Sustainability published in Scopus databases. The study found 158 papers from various fields using the keywords “ICT,” “environment,” and “sustainability.” Eighty-seven publications were included in the final analysis after human verification. To determine the most well-known research issues, significant publications, authors, and journals, bibliometric and clustering studies were carried out. The findings showed that the opportunities offered by environmental Sustainability, enablers of Environmental Sustainability, and effects of employing ICT in environmental Sustainability were the most often occurring research themes. The study also discovered a research hole in underdeveloped nations. The study aims to thoroughly assess the ICT and environmental sustainability research landscape, which can guide future research and policy-making.
