License Plate Location Using Edge-detection Based on Compound Mathematical Morphology

A new algorithm for license plate location based on compound mathematical morphology is presented with an edge detection operator designed for the edge extraction of the license plate image and the experiment shows that the algorithm is accurate and efficient in thelicense plate location.
