Abstract

Agile product-based startups face significant challenges when integrating User Experience (UX) design processes into their fast-paced, resource-constrained workflows. Current UX frameworks often lack the flexibility needed to accommodate rapid iterations and time constraints related characteristics of startup environments. This paper presents RAPID UX (Research-Aligned Parallel & Iterative Design for UX), a lightweight framework specifically designed for agile product-based startups. Through an industry expert survey of 42 professionals across five geographic regions and controlled validation in two startup environments, this research demonstrated significant improvements: 28% reduction in UX task time, 76% user preference for framework-generated designs, and 43.8% increase in team satisfaction scores. The framework employs a parallel-track architecture that decouples UX activities from development sprints while maintaining systematic handoff protocols. A supporting web application prototype achieved an 83.3 System Usability Scale (SUS) score, confirming practical viability for real-world deployment.
