Abstract
This study analyzes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in rural education, with an emphasis on its relationship to meaningful learning. Through a documentary review of research conducted between 2020 and 2025, applied technologies, educational levels, and common barriers are identified. An analysis matrix with systematic criteria was used. The findings reveal an increase in the use of adaptive platforms, virtual assistants, generative AI, and automated assessment, particularly in basic education. These tools support personalization, immediate feedback, and cognitive development. However, their implementation faces limitations such as the digital divide and lack of teacher training. It is concluded that AI can enhance educational quality if applied with a pedagogical, ethical, and contextualized approach.
