Abstract
The agricultural industry is experiencing a significant shift with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), signaling the dawn of a new era in farming. While AI-based systems for crop suggestions and market analysis have shown great potential, their widespread adoption is often limited due to the lack of transparency in many Machine Learning models, which leads to skepticism among farmers and agricultural stakeholders. This study introduces a novel framework that incorporates Explainable AI (XAI) methods into intelligent farming systems. By utilizing historical agricultural data, the system not only delivers reliable crop suggestions and market forecasts but also explains the reasoning behind its outputs in an understandable manner. The approach makes use of models trained on large-scale historical datasets, enhanced with explanation techniques such as LIME, SHAP, and counterfactual analysis to provide real-time, interpretable recommendations. Experimental findings indicate that this system boosts both the precision of its recommendations and the clarity of its decision-making process, ultimately building user trust and encouraging the adoption of precision farming practices.
