GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR COMPANIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Abstract

This article is devoted to defining the general principles and objectives of project management for companies in the construction industry. The relevance of the chosen thematic area for research is determined by the need to create innovative methodological approaches to project management in construction that help mitigate risks, ensure the highest level of quality and systematically complete tasks within the planned time frame. In addition, an innovative methodological approach to project management for companies in the construction industry is appropriate against the background of the specifics of designing and implementing investment and construction activities. Investment and construction projects are often extremely expensive, with limited material, personnel, financial and information resources. In order to improve construction control, planning of investment and construction projects, and optimize work activities, it is necessary to carry out digital transformation, informatization and innovatization of companies in the construction industry. The purpose of the study is to formulate the features of project management for companies in the construction industry. Main results of the study: 1) the concept of construction used in Russian practice, definitions of a construction project, project management for companies in the construction industry are presented; 2) the features of project management for companies in the construction industry are given; 3) the goals and objectives of project management of companies in the construction industry are outlined. Research materials: statistical data of the largest construction organizations for the time period 2000-2024, socio-economic development of Russian regions, the current state of the construction industry for the time period 2018-2024. Research methods: systematization, comparative analysis, contrastive analysis, analysis of statistical time series, generalization, economic and mathematical forecasting, abstract logical method, induction, deduction, systems approach. Main conclusions of the study: 1) an increase in the efficiency of project management processes of companies in the construction industry is possible through the concentration of financial, personnel, material, information resources that make up the management system, completing various stages of the investment and construction project in dynamics. As a rule, the latest management technologies, automated information data management, as well as a high degree of professional competence of employees contribute to an increase in the efficiency of project management processes of companies in the construction industry; 2) organizational management concepts have different characteristics, based on which they are most preferable for specific stages of development and practical implementation of investment and construction projects or used for selected investment and construction projects; 3) the goals and objectives of project management of companies in the construction industry are characterized by diversity and dynamism. At the same time, the successful implementation of an investment and construction project is a common target and joint task of the project team.
