ExtraPhraseRank: A Length-Controlled Data Augmentation Strategy for Unsupervised Abstractive Summarization

ExtraPhraseRank, a data augmentation strategy for the efficient, length-controlled generation of synthetic summaries, is presented and it is found that, though promising in the way of controlling the output length of summaries generated, the algorithm does not lead to summaries significantly more useful than a vanilla BART model.
