Edukasi Pemilahan Sampah Rumah Tangga di Dusun Pending, Desa Soronalan, Kec. Sawangan, Kab. Magelang, Jawa Tengah

Community service through education by Community Service activity of Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta 2025 student in Dusun Pending is based on the phenomenon that most of the people of Dusun Pending do not understand the importance of waste management. This educational activity with the target of housewives aims to make the people of Dusun Pending understand the importance of waste sorting, types of waste, the impact of waste, the benefits of waste and correct waste management. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR) by involving active community participation, especially the Yasinan Ibu-Ibu group. The stages of the activity include observing problems, preparing educational media in the form of sorting trash bins, coordinating with the community, and implementing education through delivering materials, discussions, and direct practice of sorting trash. The results of this activity were analyzed using the SPSS application and also with props in the form of 3 types of sorting trash bins, namely organic, inorganic, and hazardous toxic waste with the results obtained in the form of an increase in knowledge and attitude after education of 77.95% and 38.58%. So this education on waste sorting can be considered to be able to increase public understanding of waste.Keywords - Education, Waste Sorting, Participatory Action Research (PAR), Organic, Inorganic, Hazardous Toxic Waste.

Abstrak

Pengabdian masyarakat melalui edukasi oleh kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta tahun 2025 di Dusun Pending ini didasari pada fenomena yaitu sebagian besar masyarakat Dusun Pending belum memahami pentingnya pengelolaan sampah. Sehingga kegiatan edukasi dengan sasaran ibu-ibu rumah tangga ini bertujuan agar masyarakat Dusun Pending memahami pentingnya pemilahan sampah, jenis-jenis sampah, dampak sampah, manfaat sampah dan pengolahan sampah yang benar. Metode yang digunakan berupa hasil uji menggunakan aplikasi SPSS juga dengan alat peraga berupa tempat sampah pilah 3 jenis yaitu sampah organik, anorganik, dan sampah B3, dengan hasil yang didapatkan berupa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap setelah adanya edukasi sebesar 77,95% dan 38,58%. Sehingga edukasi pemilahan sampah ini dapat dinilai mampu meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap sampah.
