Abstract
Access to clean and safe drinking water is fundamental to public health. However, challenges such as aging infrastructure, pipe leaks, contamination, and inconsistent distribution systems often compromise water quality, particularly in developing regions. To address these issues, the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), offers a promising solution for real-time monitoring and management of water distribution networks. This project aims to develop an IoT-based system equipped with sensors to continuously monitor key water quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, temperature, and total dissolved solids (TDS) and detect potential pipe leaks within the distribution system. By strategically deploying these sensors at critical points in the network, the system will provide real-time data on water quality and infrastructure integrity. The collected data will be transmitted to a central platform, enabling water management authorities to receive immediate alerts in case of anomalies or deviations from established safety standards. This proactive approach facilitates timely interventions, ensuring the delivery of potable water to the public and enhancing the overall efficiency of water resource management. By leveraging IoT technologies, this system not only addresses the immediate concerns of water quality and infrastructure monitoring but also contributes to the broader goal of sustainable and resilient urban water systems
