Abstract

Against the backdrop of the in-depth penetration of the digital economy, the gaming industry is transforming a "single entertainment medium" to a "technology-culture-social composite ecosystem". In 2023, the scale of Chinas gaming market exceeded RMB 300 billion, with mobile games dominating the market with a 74.88% share. The two-dimensional gaming segment achieved a year-on-year growth of 31.01%, and players under the age of 35 accounted for over 70% of the total user base, emerging as the core driving force behind industrial iteration. This paper, drawing on industry data and both domestic and international cases, focuses on products such as Genshin Impact and Peacekeeper Elite, while also considering classic gaming practices from Japan and the United States. It analyzes the core characteristics of the industry from three dimensionstechnology, culture, and social interactionand predicts future trends based on policy guidance and consumption patterns, aiming to provide empirical support for the upgrading of the gaming industry. The study reveals three core current characteristics of the industry: technological iteration driving the integration of multi-terminal experiences, cultural narration expanding from symbolic embedding to emotional resonance, and the formation of a closed loop in the social ecosystem. In the future, the industry will achieve breakthroughs in policy-driven cultural export and technological independence, as well as the expansion of the experience economy led by youth consumption. However, it is essential to balance relationships between technological immersion and health, cultural authenticity and localization adaptation, and originality and Intellectual Property (IP) to build a sustainable ecosystem.
