Abstract

---------- In the relation Faith-Reason, two theses are suggested: the thesis of convergence, or thesis of unity, and the thesis of the separation, or the distinction between the sphere of the scientific research and the sphere of the religious salvation. In the thesis of convergence, the speech of science and that of the faith represent two “authentic knowledge” that become harmonized or must be harmonized, and in this case, knowledge is one. Science must be conscious of the bond which binds it to the speech of the faith to harmonize itself with it. In the thesis of the separation, the science has the authentic knowledge, because the speech of the faith is not strictly speaking knowledge, but a belief. Science is free and must advance for its own account, even if the speech of the faith is contrary for him.
