Abstract

Cloud-hosted communication systems have become a backbone of modern organizational infrastructures, offering scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. However, the integration of sensitive data within cloud environments poses significant security and privacy challenges. This paper explores the cybersecurity risks associated with cloud-hosted communication systems and presents best practices for ensuring data protection. We examine the key vulnerabilities in cloud architectures, including data breaches, insufficient access controls, and insecure application programming interfaces (APIs). The paper further discusses encryption techniques, identity management, and the role of compliance frameworks in safeguarding data. Through case studies, we highlight the evolving threat landscape and propose strategies for improving resilience in cloud-hosted communication systems.
