Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive cryptanalysis of the directional encryption mechanism employed in the LINE cryptosystem. The research derives quantitative assessments of the cryptosystem’s security parameters and elucidates the requisite conditions for their implementation. Through the lens of quantum security, the investigation comparatively analyzes the advantages of LINE directional encryption vis-à-vis the finalists of the 4th round of NIST’s Key Encapsulation Mechanism (KEM) standardization process. The findings demonstrate that the practical implementation of LINE directional encryption offers significant advantages in terms of scalable security and computational heterogeneity. This work contributes to the ongoing discourse on post-quantum cryptographic solutions and provides insights into the potential applications of directional encryption in secure communication systems.
