Computational Decipherment of Unknown Scripts

This thesis presents several algorithms developed for the purpose of decrypting unknown alphabetic scripts representing unknown languages, and proposes a novel approach to deciphering short monoalphabetic substitution ciphers which combines both character-level and word-level language models.
