Abstract
Quantitative phase imaging (QPI) is a vital technique in biology and medicine, enabling label-free microscopic analysis of living cells and transparent specimens. However, the image quality in QPI can be degraded by optical aberrations, leading to errors in phase reconstruction and image quality. In this work, we introduce a computational approach for correcting aberrations in epi-mode intensity-based QPI systems. We demonstrate that by correcting the aberrations, the proposed method can be used to improve image quality and quantitative accuracy in an epi-mode compact handheld QPI system, showing great potential for in vivo clinical applications.
