TLDR
The results show a positive evolution in ICT skills, although the innovative level requires development, and the need for continuous training (ICT skills and attitude) and support for teacher well-being for effective and equitable digital education.
Abstract
This study analyzed the evolution of ICT skills and key psychological dimensions in primary/secondary education teachers during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and their interrelations. A cross-sectional quantitative study (n = 538) was conducted using online surveys. The results show a positive evolution in ICT skills (explorer and integrator levels), although the innovative level requires development. Teacher efficacy was positively associated, and stress/burnout was negatively associated with ICT skills in both periods. Post-pandemic, attitude towards technology, challenges, and motivation also showed significant associations with ICT. The findings underscore the need for continuous training (ICT skills and attitude) and support for teacher well-being for effective and equitable digital education.
