Challenges and opportunities in building bio-artificial intelligence (BI)

Some of the challenges faced by experimentalists and theoreticians in the fields of synthetic biology and artificial intelligence when building, designing and testing synthetic gene networks to recapitulate simple machine and animal learning phenomena such as classification and associative learning are discussed.
