Abstract

This research-backed project automates the extraction and retrieval of mathematical expressions from live websites as well as from static documents. Initially designed for web pages, the system now extends its functionality to deal with document formats such as PDFs and Word documents, pushing the accessibility of mathematical data further. Users can enter URLs or upload files, upon which content is dynamically retrieved and processed through automated tools. Mathematical expressions extracted are recognized and processed through LaTeX and MathJax to maintain semantic correctness and platform independence. These expressions are stored as safe, user-specific data and can be reused for the generation of personalized documents. The system successfully solves problems involving dynamic loading of content, nested parsing of math expressions, and handling of multi-source data. By far decreasing manual labor to extract and recycle academic mathematics content, this solution empowers teachers, researchers, and content producers.
