Abstract
Swimming performance is an important metric for estimating locomotory capacity in fishes. Yet, most swimming chambers require manual control. We therefore developed an open-source algorithm to automate swimming chambers and control water velocity. Testing the critical swimming speeds of tropical fish offspring with different protocols revealed species-specific sensitivities to experimental protocols.
