Abstract

From a field that directly connects technology from the human central nervous system to machines, BCI is moving toward a paradigm shift. The addition of AI into BCI has acted as a major enhancer in efficiency, accuracy, and real-time adaptability. The paper discusses the role of AI in the BCI system’s evolution, involving machine learning algorithms, signal processing methods, and neural networks. The paper further highlights the challenges posed by AI in the BCI development field, considering ethical issues, data privacy, and computation challenges. Finally, future directions of AI-enhanced BCI, along with their anticipated influence on health care and the fields of neurorehabilitation and human augmentation, are discussed in this paper. Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) directly correlate technology from the human brain and central nervous system to machines. In another way, advancing through quick technological changes that are altering the paradigm of this field. The inclusion of artificial intelligence in BCI systems fuels the transformation by providing a unique thrust for efficiency, accuracy, and real-time adaptability. With these AI-based models, the understanding of the most complicated neural signals is becoming more advanced in BCIs. This paper sheds light on the intersection of AI and the evolution of the BCI system, addressing the utilization of sophisticated machine-learning algorithms, advanced signal-processing methods, and applications in environments for dynamic and adaptive interaction relying on deep neural networks.
