Abstract
The modern flight operations and efficient operations required have put pressure on the traditional maintenance system which is complicated. The unplanned and periodic maintenance methods may result in inefficient energy utilization, sustainability issues, and unnecessary wear and tear of the components. The article introduces a predictive maintenance system of the AI-based type that deals with such issues by incorporating online sensor data, deep learning algorithms, and failure risk models as part of a typical architecture. The system deploys LSTM networks to identify precursors of degradation and to plan timely intervention by focusing on the most failure prone aircraft sub-systems including the fuel control systems, the environmental control packs as well as the hydraulics. Through the integration of the energy usage statistics in the predictive modelling structure, the system coordinates the reliability of the components as well as their energy effectiveness. The findings reveal that there are major energy savings, subsystem load and diagnostic accuracy improvements across a range of mechanical and thermal conditions. Classification metrics including precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC were used to show the performance in fault detection, and it was seen that this performance is good across all the aircraft components. Incremental hourly and monthly investments of the proposed filtering-drying-pressing versus the actual process economic analysis also demonstrated great economic benefits and as a result, commercialization is achievable. The proposed research presents a data-driven and flexible digitalized model of aviation maintenance that is sustainable. The findings reflect the adoption of intelligent energy-conscious operating strategies at an inclusive level, as opposed to the traditional practices of maintenance-centric approach.
