Abstract
Connected vehicle (CV) networks demand ultra-low-latency and high-reliability data exchange. Existing link-layer and physical-layer security mechanisms are often inadequate due to computational load, synchronization fragility, and visible to structural analysis. This paper applies the half-weight (n/2) masking concept, previously developed for algebraic error-correcting codes, to vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. By inserting a balanced, fixed-weight mask within each encoded frame, the transmitted signal becomes statistically uniform while preserving error-correction capability. The approach seamlessly integrates with V2X and 5G stacks, as well in line with future 6 G stack too, introduces sub-microsecond latency overhead, and resists eavesdropping, replay, and desynchronization attacks. Simulation and architectural analysis confirm that the proposed scheme provides a scalable, hardwarefriendly, and quantum-resilient secrecy layer for next-generation automotive and 6G-compliant vehicle networks.
