An adaptive two‐mode diagnosis scheme for discrete event systems is introduced and an algorithm is proposed such that the active diagnoser has a testing mechanism to generate a resolution sequence in resolving the uncertain state, if the diagnosed system at the uncertainState is actively diagnosable.
