Abstract
Sign language is an essential communication medium for individuals with hearing impairments. It enables them to convey messages, disseminate knowledge, and transfer ideas within the deaf community. However, not everyone understands sign language, making it challenging for individuals with hearing impairments to communicate effectively with other common people. Sign Language Recognition (SLR) is vital for bridging the communication gap between persons with hearing loss and non-sign language speakers. This survey paper aims to explore Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques for recognition of sign languages. Investigate further research scope in this field.
