Abstract
This article discusses how the integration of information technology (IT) and business administration redefines the construction industry, a sector historically characterized by high complexity and low productivity compared to other industries. The research analyzes the impacts of the convergence of information systems, digital modeling (BIM), automation, and artificial intelligence on business management, highlighting the advances achieved in strategic planning, cost reduction, deadline optimization, and improved quality control. The study also proposes digital transformation frameworks applied to project management and construction processes, demonstrating how digitalization contributes to greater operational efficiency and transparency in workflows. The results show that the incorporation of emerging technologies enhances team integration, data traceability, and evidence-based decision-making. The conclusion is that information technology, when combined with innovative administrative practices, is a central element for the competitiveness, sustainability, and modernization of the contemporary construction industry.
