A groundbreaking automated system for DR detection and severity classification is introduced and a new hybrid technique that integrates KNN with random forest (KNN-RF) is proposed that outperforms the others and points to promising possibilities for the approach in providing precise, scalable, and cost-effective diabetic retinopathy diagnoses in resource-scarce settings.
