bahasa Inggris. Abstract The need for variety in learning methods/strategies has resulted in learning in the classroom becoming monotonous. Therefore, we need a method/technique suitable for creating enjoyable learning, each process. The research location at Public Hich School 1 Piyungan, consisting of XII MIPA 2 with 22 students, was conducted. The study methods consisted of observation sheets, questionnaires and measures of learning outcomes. In addition, learning outcomes evaluated using minimum completeness criteria. The analysis results show that using drill techniques can improve students' speaking skills by 83.03% in cycle 2 (second meeting). Meanwhile, learning outcomes using a drill technique can improve student learning outcomes with a percentage of achievement of 13.73%. Therefore it can say that the use of drill techniques can enhance learning outcomes and students' speaking ability in learning English practised
