The sinusual process of establishing and organizing the Department Of Human And Animal Physiology at the State University (1946-1960)

After the end of World War II, the Soviet regime started an ample process of creating and organizing research centers and training specialists. The science of physiology in the Bessarabian space experienced a dificult journey due to historical and ideological circumstances. By establishing the Department of Human and Animal Physiology at the Faculty of Biology of the State University of Chișinău, the aim was to train teaching staff and future researchers. However, ideological control was very prominent in both the organizational and teaching processes, which directly influenced the quality of studies and the development of physiology as a science.
